Vendor Requirements & Rules

What every vendor agrees to.

Permits and insurance, health compliance, fire safety, cleanliness, and conduct: the rules you agree to before you set up at Mines Market.

This document outlines all operational, health, safety, and legal requirements for participation at Mines Market. Compliance with these rules is mandatory.

Required Documentation

Must be submitted prior to participation. Failure to provide required documentation may result in denial of participation without refund.

  • Valid City of San Antonio Mobile Food Unit Permit or Bexar County Permit, as applicable
  • Texas Food Handler Certification (for applicable staff)
  • Texas Food Manager Certification, if required by menu or regulation
  • Fire inspection tag (required if propane or open-flame equipment is used)
  • Vehicle registration (optional, but commonly requested)
  • Certificate of Insurance (COI): minimum $1,000,000 General Liability, with Mines Market listed as Additional Insured

Health Department Compliance

  • Vendors must comply with all local, state, and federal health regulations.
  • All required permits must be visibly displayed during operation.
  • Handwashing stations must be operational if required.
  • No food preparation outside of the food truck unless explicitly permitted by health regulations.
  • No dumping of gray water, grease, or waste on site or into storm drains.
  • Health inspectors may visit at any time; vendors must comply immediately and maintain compliance at all times.

Cleanliness, Trash & Grease Disposal

  • Vendors must keep their space clean during and after service.
  • Trash must be bagged and disposed of in designated areas.
  • Grease and gray water must be removed from the site, with no onsite dumping.
  • Vendor areas must be left in the same or better condition than found.

Fire, Propane & Safety Requirements

  • A working fire extinguisher is required in each food truck.
  • Propane tanks must be secured and in safe working condition.
  • No open flames outside the food truck.
  • Vendors are responsible for safe operation of all equipment.

Insurance & Liability

  • Vendors operate as independent businesses.
  • Vendors assume full responsibility for their food, equipment, staff, and operations.
  • Vendors agree to indemnify and hold Mines Market harmless from all claims arising from their participation.
  • Mines Market is not responsible for food safety issues, employee injuries, customer illness, or claims or damages arising from vendor food or operations.

Vendor Conduct

  • Vendors must operate in a professional and respectful manner.
  • No aggressive solicitation of customers.
  • Vendors must respect neighboring vendors, staff, and guests.
  • No amplified music or external sound systems without prior approval.

Branding & Menu Expectations

  • Menu prices must be clearly posted.
  • No unauthorized signage outside of the vendor's assigned space.
  • Menu changes must be communicated in advance to assist with Mines Market marketing procedures.

By applying to vend at Mines Market, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to comply with all policies, requirements, and rules outlined above. You'll confirm your agreement on the application form.
